It was the happiest day of his life. His hands were all sweaty and his heart jumpy. He hoped he wouldn’t have soaked his suit with sweat before he got to say, ‘I do’ to the love of his life.
The chapel was filled to the brim. He had no idea where all these people came from. Still, he tried his best to remain calm and focused.

He stood at the altar while everyone sat. The priest was beginning to get impatient…or maybe it was just his thought.
He sighed and checked the time-some minutes to 11 in the morning.
He scanned through the congregation; some were already picking up their phones to chat on due to boredom, while others were fanning themselves ridiculously. As for him, his heart would just not stop beating so fast. Anne needed to come in on time; he couldn’t take any more suspense. As a matter of fact, he had been waiting and standing for close to an hour now, where the hell was she?
Well, maybe she was just too busy getting all dressed up. He needn’t worry. Even if it meant waiting till evening, he would gladly do that for the love of his life.

Just as he was thinking this, he caught the eye of the priest. Father Alfred didn’t look so pleased. Even though he smiled at him, the priest didn’t smile back. Oops! Now Anne was taking too long…
“Here comes, the bride!” someone shouted from the crowd and immediately, a sound of music from the choir filled the whole place and everyone was on their feet.

Chase could feel the wave of excitement spreading inside him once more. The pain he had been feeling for having been on his feet for so long, seemed to have vanished completely.
He quickly looked at the priest who seemed to heave a sigh of relief. Chase smiled. This was finally happening.
When he saw her in her wedding gown, his heart skipped a beat. Anne was the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. He had spent so much on renting them a house at Hatteras Island. Spending two weeks with this beauty in such a romantic place would be like heaven.

He was smiling at her as she walked down but she wasn’t smiling back. He thought she was nervous. When she finally got beside him and gave him a dashing smile, he felt more at ease.
They held hands as they faced the priest and the congregation sat.

While the priest was saying everything, Chase couldn’t take his eyes off her. He couldn’t believe that this was finally happening.
They had met on Facebook some years back, fell in love and gotten so close. Now they were tying the knot. How did he get so lucky?
“So, do you Chase Benjamin take…” the priest started.
“I do,” Chase replied without allowing the man to land. There was a little chuckle from the congregation.
“So, do you, Anne…”

Chase smiled as he watched her say, “I do not!”
There was a loud ‘ah!’ from everyone.
Chase thought she didn’t hear that well. “Baby, you are supposed to say I do…” he quickly corrected her.
“I know, but I do not,” Anne replied.
Chase frowned. What was happening?
“Did I hear you say you do not take Chase as your husband miss?” The priest asked.
“Yes, Father. Sorry, Chase. I can’t do this. You are not the one!” with this, she fled out of the church, dropping her flower and removing her veil.
Everyone stood up, watching her in shock as she ran out of the church.

Chase couldn’t believe this….this was a nightmare. The next thing he knew was a sharp pain in his heart and he fell into total blackness.
