10 WAYS TO FIGHT ACNE

The first time Sandra held a mirror at 14,  the image that stared back at her made her cringe: her ebony oval  face  was littered with tiny reddish mounds.
This acne was her curse. A burden She carried everyday. She stayed indoors for hours refusing the invites of her peers for hangouts. She  sulked on the last seat in the back of the  class, her mind wandering away as the teacher’s voice fades into oblivion.
This acne dragged her self esteem through the mud.
What hadn’t she done to rid this curse?

When they said that early morning urine would cure it, hadn’t she washed her face with her urine for two months, yet the problem remained.

When friends suggested potash cured acnes, Sandra had purchased a kilogram of potash and applied it morning and night yet to no avail.
The curse still didn’t leave.
Today, a lot of us are Sandras. We have those tiny, offensive acnes marring our beauty. Women hate the tiny ridges it creates on the expanse of our smooth face. One wonders what we have done wrong to attract the breakouts. We listen and implement any and every advice that promises to cure acne.

Yet the acne worsens.

1. NEVER TO PRESS YOUR ACNE AGAIN.
Keep your hands off your face. Kill the urge that whispers in  your ears that you  should burse the ripening acne. This will do you no good. Instead, it will make your face a canva of black spots.

Learn to wash your hands always. Daily, you touch money, hold door knobs, caress pets, lift items. Directly or indirectly, your hands grab germs. It’s imperative you fight the urge to touch your face with dirty hands.

2.  WASH YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES WITH WARM WATER AND SOAP.
Bring out your makeup kit and take a good look at your make up brushes. How long have you used them? 6 months? 2 years? 5 years?
When was the last time you washed them?
These make up brushes hold loads of germs that are triggering your break out.

Bring out your make up brushes and give them a good wash with warm water and detergent.

4. STAY OUT OF THE SUN
The sun may be good in all aspects but when it comes to your skin, the sun is harsh. The ultraviolet rays of the sun makes your skin age prematurely. It causes wrinkles and for the acne prone skin, it’s even more dangerous. It causes the acne to become reddish.
Always apply broad spectrum Suncreen with spf 30 before going into the sun.

Or be like me, always hold your umbrella. Umbrella is not only for rain. It’s even more needed for sun blockage.

10.  STOP OVERLOADING YOUR SKIN WITH COSMETIC PRODUCTS
It’s not about the expensive cosmetic products that promise heaven and earth that will cure your acne: it’s  your diligence in following these little, simple tips.
Stop buying those baskets of cosmetic products. These products contain different chemicals that wear your skin out. Let your skin breathe.
Do your own diy facial scrub, have a mixture of honey, egg, mashed tomatoes, milk and lemon. Pamper your face with natural ingredients. Do this once a week. Carry it for twenty minutes, then wash it off.
Get a facial cleanser that contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, or glycolic acid or lactic acid. These active ingredients help curb bacteria though they have a tendency of drying the skin. So, it’s safe to use moisturizer always.
These tips are effective. If you really desire a smooth, acne free face, give them a try for three months.
