5 Ways I Unwind After A Long Day or Week

Unwind simply means a way to relax. We all get worked up over one thing or the other. It could be from work, from school, from family and for someone like me, from my blog.

How I unwind

These are ways in which I let off stress or just relax after a long day or a long week. I hope it works for you as well.

Listen to music

I really cannot count how many playlists I have on my phone. All these playlists have their respective moods and when I listen to them. There’s a playlist of all of my favorite songs of all time. I don’t listen to this unless I’m really down and in need of some serious mood lift.

I suggest you create a playlist which you don’t listen to unless you need to, for if you always listen to it, You’d get tired of the songs

See a movie alone or with a friend (At home or Cinema)

This just has a way of getting my mind off things. I usually go with a friend and just once in a while, decide to go alone or I just watch something at home. To be very honest it’s fun. I just go to the cinema and watch whatever is showing at the time I get there. Get me some popcorn, Hot dog and Coke. Trust me, I’m good to go.

Watch a movie by yourself either at home or in the cinema

Send a “hello” broadcast to everyone on my contact list on whatsapp

Yep, you read that right. I still did this a couple of days back and it was fun. People would actually respond. People you haven’t spoken to in a long while will feel loved and reach out to you. You could be chatting for hours and you wouldn’t even realize how fast time has gone by.

Eat

Yes eating makes me feel so much better. I just get really energized and relaxed after eating. I really can’t explain the feeling but I do know I feel so much better. So I just find some new food location to try out, ask a friend to cook for me or I just cook something for myself

You should try eating when you need to unwind

Turn on the tap and just listen to water running

This is actually very therapeutic. Listening to water run or just looking through the water makes me very relaxed and eases me to dreamland and just forget how stressful my day was or anything at that. I can’t over emphasis on how relaxing this is. You should give this a try as well, I would love to hear your feedback.

Just Cry to wind off

I don’t think I have an explanation for how this works but I do know that I feel so much better immediately I am done crying.

Cry about what ever is stressing you out

  1. Hii!!!! I like that tap water thing, it really helps. But wait till my daddy catches me wasting water, that’s wahala o. Seeing a movie also helps, even if you wouldn’t follow the movie to the end. Nice post!!!!!
